Caravan delivery
Trailer Delivery plans to move touring caravans as well as trailers: collected from the seller, towed by road and handed to the buyer. It is not open yet, and nothing can be booked today.
Which caravans we plan to move
A touring caravan is a trailer in law, so it has to be inside the same limits as any trailer behind a car or 4x4.
- Weight: 3,500kg at most when loaded. The caravan's plate shows its own maximum. Where to find it.
- Width: 2.55 metres at most.
- Length: 7 metres at most, not counting the A-frame at the front.
- Brakes: over 750kg loaded, the brakes must work.
What we cannot move
- A static caravan, lodge or park home wider than 2.55 metres. It cannot be towed behind a car or 4x4 and travels on a lorry, which is a different job from ours.
- A caravan that cannot go on the road on its own wheels, because its tyres, lights or brakes do not work.
What we will ask for
- The collection postcode and the delivery postcode.
- The maximum weight on the caravan's plate, and its width and length.
- Whether the tyres, lights and brakes work, and when it was last on the road.
- Who will be at each end to hand it over and receive it.

Towing a caravan yourself
If you would rather collect it, three things decide whether you can. Check your car against the caravan's weight. Check what your licence covers. Fit towing mirrors if the caravan is wider than the back of your car. The speed limits when towing are lower than for the car alone.
